Well Hey guys, I’ll be playing a set of music at the Yellow Door Coffee house this friday night May 8th. I was asked to open for someone, but he (unfortunately) is ill and cancelled so , now the show is mine alone, followed by a longer than usual open mic afterwards. I’ll be playing a lot of new songs on piano and some on guitar for the first time. I hope you won’t judge my playing too bad, I’ve been at it for only 2 1/2 months without teacher, BUT , those of you who know me, know I’m very ambitious when it comes to learning a new instrument.
I’ve started to understand now something new about my songwriting, and that the best songs come out of inspiration when I can see a place in my mind. I’m very visual, and I take inspiration from Movies and art and books. There’s got to be a story. More importantly a playing field, to start. I’m really enjoying the new places I’m discovering with my guitar, I used to actually hate the guitar growing up because everyone played it, the sound of it was so over used, that’s why I took on the piano, but now that I’ve grown up I can appreciate being able to play along with some of the music I grew up with, and learning a new instrument is also a big way to inspire new writing material. So anyway, I hope you guys can make it to the show, I’ve been out with a foot injury for quite a while now and I’m ust starting to get to walking again. I hope to bump into you soon!
